Here's how PIN it works

We use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to verify your address and protect your personal information.
  • When your account balance first reaches the verification threshold, we'll mail a PIN to the payment address in your account.
  • Once we've sent you a PIN, we'll hold all payments until you've entered that PIN in your account. While you're waiting for it to arrive, you can still access your account, show ads, and accrue earnings.
  • When you receive your PIN, enter it in your account following the instructions on the PIN mailer. You'll have 180 days to enter your PIN.
  • If you don't receive your PIN, you can request a replacement.
If you do not enter a PIN within 180 days, your account will be disabled and your earnings refunded to the appropriate advertisers.

When will I receive my PIN?

Once your account balance reaches the verification threshold, your PIN will be generated and sent via first class mail within 3-5 days. You can view the date it is generated by clicking the Please enter your PIN link on your Payment History page. After your PIN is mailed, you should expect it to arrive within 2-4 weeks, but it may take longer to reach you depending on the postal service in your location.
If you do not receive your PIN, you can request a replacement PIN 3 weeks after the previous PIN is generated.
You might also wish to learn how long it typically takes publishers in your area to receive their PINs. You can find out by visiting the AdSense Help Forum, where AdSense publishers share their knowledge and experiences. You can feel free to post your own questions and search or browse for answers about receiving PINs.

Received my PIN?

There are several reasons why you might not have received your Personal Identification Number yet.
  • Your account is not on PIN hold.
You will be required to verify your PIN only after your account balance reaches $10.00. If you do not see a hold displayed on the Overview page, under the Reports tab, then it means that your account is not on PIN hold yet.
  • A PIN might not have been sent to you.
You have to wait for a week after your account balance reached $10.00 for a PIN to be generated and mailed to you. Learn how to check your account balance.
  • You haven't waited for 4 weeks after your last PIN was generated.
PINs often take up to 4 weeks to reach you by mail. You can find the date on which your most recent PIN was generated by logging in to your account and viewing the Account Settings page under the My Account tab.
  • Your payment address is not valid.
Take a moment to review your payment address, and make updates to your address if necessary.
If you have still not received your PIN after reviewing the common issues notes above, you may request up to a maximum of 2 additional PINs by following these instructions.
